Counseling
is an art. It requires education, skill, clarity, boundaries, responsibility, and balance. As counselors, we take in painful content. In the process of assisting others in discovering themselves, we are also discovering and uncovering new dimensions about ourselves. It is a powerful journey. This group is for mental health professionals who want to "stretch," to examine, to recommit to the work and to their own personal growth. The "tools" for the pilgrimage include meditation, yoga, journaling, discussion of clinical issues, education about practice techniques, and gentle physical exercise. The goal is to integrate process through mind, body, and spirit. Space is limited. Please reserve your place early. If you are interested in being a part of this process, send an email to thepractice@comcast.net and one of our facilitators will contact you.

Teens Unplugged: An Honest, Open, Candid Discussion Group about Life, Love, Sex, Faith, and all things Meaningful
Specific dates and times to be arranged
The NJ Center for the Healing Arts
is inviting teens ages 16 to 18 to participate in an ongoing discussion group that will offer opportunities to "unplug," get "real," tell the truth, be heard, and talk about what matters most. Though what is discussed in the group will remain confidential to the group, it is our hope that we will share what we learn with others by creating our own book. This is being offered as a community service; there is no fee for participation. However, commitment to attend and to be respectful of all members in the group is required. Exact times and dates for meetings will be set once group members are selected. Enrollment is limited due to space. Call 732-747-2944 to schedule a phone or in-person interview with Lauren Rigney to begin the process.

Balancing Anger: A Group Therapy for Young Adults
Specific times and dates to be arranged
Anger is one of the most misunderstood and feared emotions. As a result, it is also very painful and difficult to express.
This group experience offers an opportunity to learn how to balance anger and how to use it constructively and effectively. Through discussion, journaling, movement, and music, participants will identify and explore feelings expressed through the energy of anger. Coping strategies, assertiveness training, communication skills, and relaxation techniques will be explored as participants discover healthier ways to express anger and to integrate it into the full range of emotion. Participants must be between the ages of 19 and 26. Pre screening is required. Call to arrange an initial assessment.
